BSOD - Is my ram bad?

Hello all,
I have been fiddling with my computer for hours and I am running out
of ideas and patience, so if anybody can help it would be appreciated.

My computer started having BSOD last week (stop 0x0000000c4). I
reinstalled win XP, but the problem continues. I found that using the
memory bandwidth test of the Sandra program would systematically
result in a BSOD.

NAturally I figured that the problem was with the memory. My
motherboard (fic am35) came with 128MB of memory. I added a 256 MB
stick maybe a year ago. I tested with memtest86, maybe for 1/2 hour,
without any error. I also tried a memory testing program from
microsoft. Again no error. I also have a compatible 512 MB stick
available, so I put that in and it tested flawlessly.

I get no BSOD if I only have the original 128MB in. If I try the 256MB
or the 512MB alone , I get the error. I tried disabling the driver
verifier and I still get the error.

Having the problem happen with two different memory sticks (different
brands, one from azenram, one from crucial) made me think that maybe
the memory is not the problem, but I am not sure.

My questions are:
Can I trust memtest86. Should I run it longer (like all night)
Is it still possible that a driver is causing the problem, even if I
disabled the driver verifier?
If so, how can I identify the faulty driver?

Thanks
JC
