Browsing the Temporary Internet Files

I just recently moved from Win98 on my old computer to WIN XP on a new one.
Both with IE 6.0.
On the old computer, I could use an image browsing program (ACDSee) to view
the image files in the Temporary Internet Files folders.
On the new computer, even the subfolders of the TIF folder do not appear.
Needless to say, I am not able to brose through the TIF folder.
Have I just missed something?
Thanks,
Dave

In Windows Explorer go to Tools/ Folder Options/View and check 'show hidden
files & folders', Apply/ OK.

To view image files go to View and select Thumbnails.

Sorry, I may not have explained myself well.
I want to see the files in program like ACDSee as I was able to on my old
computer.
But thanks for the input.

Have you tried using ACDSee and navigating to C:\Documents
and Settings\%Your User Name%\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files? That should be what you are looking for.

I found the reason, kind of.
The TIF folder is a system folder (has a "desktop.ini" file in it), so it is
not browseable with ACDSee.
Turning it back into a regular folder makes it browseable.
Just have to find a way to keep it from being turned BACK into a system
folder.

Does your application allow you to drag files to it?
That's how I usually open things from the TIF.

Open the TIF viewer (i.e. an Explorer window showing the special
view of the TIF) by pressing Alt-T,O,Alt-S,V. I prefer to keep
the settings of that "folder" at View Details and sorted by Last Access
(Alt-V,D Alt-V,I,A)

If you know the name of the file you want it is also possible to
find it quite easily from that view by pressing F3 and using
Search Companion.

Thanks, but that wasn't quite what I am after.
Your process allows me to browse the files, but does not show the images as
thumbnails; don't know why.
I think I have found part of the answer.
The TIF file keeps being turned into a system folder every time IE is run,
creating a desktop.ini file.
For some reason ACDSee will not let me browse through that file unless I
delete the desktop.ini file.
The weird thing is that, when I had WIN98 and the same versions of I.E. 6.0
and ACDSee, I had no problem browsing the files, so there must be something
I am missing, and it has nothing to do with checking or un-checking things
like "Hide system files" etc.
Thanks for you input,
Dave
