Browsing Network Neighborhood via VPN

Travis Krampy

Hi,

When I access the office using VPN, I am not able to find any computers in network neighborhood. I have the office DNS in my DNS settings. If I do a search for the computer, I am able to find it.

I was wondering if I would have to enable WINS browse NN?

Is there any other alternatives besides WINS?

Thanks

Travis

LMHosts files but WINS is easier.

Network Places uses NetBIOS

You will also need a WINS server
Is there any other alternatives besides WINS?

Publish shares in Active Directory by the FQDN, if Active Directory client
is installed or if Win2k or XP.
