hi all,

I just a have a quick question about internet browswers and programs for downloading torrents (such as azureus or utorrent). For some reason I can't seem to browse the internet, no matter what program I use (IE, Firefox, Opera), when I have my azureus running. I'm not sure if there are some settings that are wrong or if it's just azureus, although I've tried utorrent as well and it doesn't work any better. I'm using Norton internet security and I've made sure to allow azureus to access the internet on all ports and I don't think I have any windows based firewall on either. I don't know, but any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

it could be using the wrong port to connect, might be worth checking, dunno what it should be but i think the http port is 80 so as long as its not that you should be ok

Copyright warning. Unless you live in Canada, you must understand that copyright laws are commonly violated by P2P sharing. If you download a song, movie, or TV show, you do risk a civil lawsuit. Canadians are protected from these lawsuits because of a Canadian supreme court ruling, but not residents of the USA or most parts of Europe and Asia. This lawsuit risk is a reality, and you must accept this risk if you choose to download P2P files.
... the biggest threat in downloading anything from these P2P programs is the authenticity of the file and the risk of it containing some sort of malware or virus.

When anybody asks for advice on "problems" arising from using any P2P program, the first thing I want to see is a HJT Log ... :D

that's funny about the copyright laws, because I actually am Canadian. But i can't figure this thing out, partly cause I don't understand enough about ports to really do anything about it.....

i dunno tbh, just guessing as i know some people route their traffic through the http port somehow to avoid detection by their ISP, your best bet is to try a forum thats geared more towards this type of software
