I have Windows Professional 2000 (SP4) workstation. I
received next message in my Event Log.
Source: BROWSER
ID: 8019
The observer of a network cannot raise the role up to the
basic observer. The observer will continue such attempts,
but thus registration of events in magazine of events will
be stopped.

What can I do?

Hi,

THe client is trying to become a master browser, but cannot. If you have a
domain controller or server on the same subnet as the client, you should
simply stop and disable the Computer Browser service on the W2K Pro box. If
not, see 143153 Event ID 8003, 8009 and 8019 Appear If Subnet Mask Incorrect
