Any solutions to the problem of why a new browser window
is minimized after clicking on a link? In order to view
the new window I must manually maximize the window. This
only happens when the link brings me to another website.

Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.
