Browser only displays site background

Stephen

My MS ie6 browser will display the background color or
wallpaper for a site but it will not display any images
or text on top. The internet options have been set to
default values and "display images" is active. For
example on msn.com, I just get a blue background. I can
view the HTML source in notepad and it appears to be good
HTML. I am also not sure which version of the browswer I
have, because when I select the "Help->About Internet
Browser" it displays the frame but blank contents. I
suspect my daughter picked up some kind of computer
virus, but I've scanned with Norton and even looked for
parasites. I'm running Win98 SE as an operating system.

Any ideas.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
Quit all programs that are running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message,
click OK.
If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of
the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file
names below):
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)

Unquote.
