I am not able to get on websites that I always was able
to before. I get an error message that says the site
can't be found. These are common sites. This happened
before and support helped me by having me find a file and
deleting it or changing it. I think it was a file with
old or olds in it. Any ideas??
Thanks

Make sure that you are connected to the Internet. What I
mean by this is check if you have a valid ip address.
Also disable any firewall software.

Which version of Windows?

What kind of internet connection do you have, dial up or
high speed?

Do you use AOL? Parental controls will do this.

Do you have IE's "content advisor" enabled? IE > tools >
internet options > content.

Can you get to http sites, but not https sites? If yes,
you could have an SSL problem.

If you open winipcfg, or at a command prompt, type:
ipconfig /all , are you getting an IP address from your
ISP?

We need more information.

Please reply.

We are here to help.

Sincerely,
Jo

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If you did not create the file, then you may have parasites, or you are
using a web accelerator program that would be causing this problem.

Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
