browser is not able to run Java Applets

after installing xp pro update from win 98se i cannot
access some banking websites. i have installed xpsp1 and
internet explorer sp1 and q827667 which is supposed to
correct this problem. i have also changed privacy
settings in iexplorer to 'accept all cookies'. any
assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What makes you think it's a problem with Java applets?

thanks for responding. the message 'browser is not able
to run java applets' is displayed when i try to access my
bank website.

Understand that because of a court decision Microsoft will stop all Java
support after 30 SEP 04 and is recommending that you use the Sun JRE.
