Java Applets

Hi,I trying to access a web site that informs me that

'Your browser is not able to run Java Applets. You will
need to obtain a Java-capable browser such as Microsoft
Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator/Communicator'

I am running XP, IE 6.0.28...
Is there a security setting or such that needs resetting,
or is it the website?

Any ideas appreciated
