Browser hijacker

A

Ash

I have installed Microsoft antispyware version and have
reset all the options available for Internet Explorer.
However I still have unwanted buttons in my standard
toolbar and the same unwanted buttons as menu items in
Tools. The View/Toolbars options have all been grayed out
so that I cannot even hide the standard toolbar. Any
suggestions about what I could do?

If you close IE and open AntiSpy and select Advanced
Tools, System Explorers, under Internet Explorer you will
see IE BHO. Go there and block everything (even stuff you
think should be OK). Then go to IE Toolbars and block
them too. See if that helps. If it does you can go back
and unblock the BHOs you recognize, one at a time to see
if any of them were corrupted.

If not then:
If you have spyware that AntiSpy
can't get rid of and you would like some free advice from
a veteran of the spyware wars then get HijackThis from

http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe

If the above wraps and won't open then use:

http://tinyurl.com/67reb

Save it (preferably to its own folder) then Open it and
select the SCAN AND SAVE LOG option.

Note where you save the log and then send it to me as an
attachment with a short note about your problem. Put
HijackThis in the subject so I will know it's not spam. I
will be glad to look at it and tell you what to do to get
rid of it for good.
