browser freezes/unresponsive...HELP

Lucy

in the past couple of of months, my browser has become
unresponsive with certain websites and freezes. sometimes
it freezes if i "ctrl/alt/delete" and i have to shut down
and restart. i've deleted cookies, files, have plenty of
RAM and don't have any critical upgrades that can be
installed. i am currently using mcafee anti-virus. could
i have a "new" bug that has slipped by it? what can i do
to correct my browser? i'm VERY frustrated!

Lucy,
Have you downloaded and run Spybot Search and Destroy or HiJack This! both
will help you find malware that may be causing your problem. In the
meanwhile, empty your IE cache and delete all cookies. When you go back to
your favorite sites like eBay, Amazon and so on, they will load their
cookies back on your machine. These are acceptable cookies as opposed to
some that simply send information to marketers for who knows what purpose.
Do a Google search for the utilities I mentioned. Good Luck. Post back if
you still have problems.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
