I.E.6 Freezes When Opening PDF File

Every time I select a link to a PDF file in IE 6, the browser freezes and I
have to ctrl>alt>delete to shut it down. Could someone please give me some
tips on what might be causing this? TIA
 
Sorry to be short on the details. I'm running Windows Media Center and Adobe
Reader 7.0.5.
