Browser does not support Java

My IE9 has not been working properly for the past few
days.
WHen I try to load a yahoo game a blank screen pops up
with a small icon in the upper left hand corner, which
when I click on it refers to a hypertext transfer
protocol. And on other things I get a message indicating
that my browser does not support java.

How do I get it to support java, for I think this will
correct the games also.

thank you
brian

I never have gotten IE9 to load anything. If you mean IE6:

Here's the fix, courtesy of Alan Edwards, MVP:

If it is only .exe files, then read on and see if this is relevant:
You may have an invalid plugin.
Netscape-Style Plug-ins Do Not Work After Upgrading Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=303401

Remove the plugin with Regedit.exe
Start-Run-Regedit.exe
Navigate down to this key and remove it, after exporting it as a
normal safety precaution.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Plugins\Extension\.exe

If that key exists, then you will see what plugin has been installed.
(QuickTime by the looks of it and if so, I believe they have a fix)
The key does not normally exist.
