Browser doesn't support Java

Hi,

I am running Win XP with IE6 ver 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633

When trying to access sites with Java Applets I get the message that my
browser doesn't support Java(tm)

How can I change this?

I have looked in Internet Options and nothing looks likely and I have looked
in the Security Tab and scripting of Java applets is Enabled.

I am obviously missing something here.

Thanks.

Is this something new - I didn't have to download anything on machine that
came with XP installed.
