Brother drivers

Hi all,
I own for a few years a Brother HL-1020 laser printer, a couple of
times a year i would loose the driver but now every time i shut down i have
to re-install the XP driver (Brother does not have a XP driver for it) I
have tried everything to re-install it properly with no luck, the printer
works fine and i would not want to replace it just because of a driver
problem.

Any ideas please are welcome
