bring in movies as clips

When i hook up my sony camcorder to windows movie maker, it brings in all of
the clips in the top windows. i can pull all of these to the timeline and
make a long movie.

Is there way to import all of the clips as individual files and put them on
my hard drive?(so if i have 200 clips on my camcorder, i will save 200
individual files)

Only if you do it manually. Start capture when you want a clip to start and
stop when you have reached the end of that clip.

any application that one could use to do this. I have about 20 mini db tapes
that have hundrends of clips. i want to store them as individual files

OK, you should be able to do it in MM actually. When you have the clip in
the collections window, right click on it and choose create clips.
