Bootvis & slow boot

Ari

Any one knows where I can get bootvis. Microsoft no
longer has it on the site. I'm trying to get my computer
to load faster it's gotten sluggish in the last several
weeks. I have defragged, gone in to msconfig and
unchecked all items on the startup tab, but it still
boots up a lot slower than before. If you have any other
suggestions it will be appreciated.
Thanks

Bootvis does not do anything that your computer will not do by itself in 3
days!

Go to your prefetch folder and delete all the files. Then reboot. The folder
will begin to be repopulated with the programs and startup files you are
using "now". After about 3 boots Windows will begin to rearrange your disk
automatically (when the system is idle) for faster starts.

I do this every 2-3 months to keep the system as fast as possible. My son
shaved about a minute off his boot time by doing this. It did take a couple
of days for him to really see the improvement!
