When ever I turn my cpu off and restart it drags and then
it always ask for the disk I am running a new install of
winows xp home edition and it does this every time any
idea why?

What disk is it asking for (Windows XP CD?)? Also, when it is asking
for the disk, are you in XP or is this before XP loads? Have you
checked for spyware, viruses, etc?

GO TO SEARCH AND GET A PROGRAM CALLED STINGER AND RUN IT
TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A VIRUS

Galoot, I appreciate your helping in these newsgroups, but turn off the
cap locks. It is not only rude (caps are considered yelling), it is
more difficult to read. I think I speak for everyone when I say turn
off the caps.

By disk are you saying that it is asking if you want to boot from CD?
If so, you need just need to access your BIOS and change the boot
device order. How do you access BIOS, you may ask? I don't know!!!
Only you can answer that, as only you know what brand of BIOS you
have; it usually tells you what key(s) to press to access BIOS
(sometimes it calls it System Setup or just Setup).
