My Windows doesn't start and it shows an error message
which it appears can be fixed by repairing windows XP.
us;823614).

But, my problem is that when I insert my XP CD-ROM, the
computer does not boot from my CD-ROM. Inorder to repair
XP I need the computer to boot from my CD-ROM. How do I
do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jey,

Most newer systems have an option in the system ROM BIOS setup that will all
you to set the boot sequence to boot from CD. Check the BIOS setup to
ensure that the CD is set as the first boot device.

When you power on your PC after the maker's logo, but before the Windows
logo, there's usually a screen that says something like: System Settings
F10. The key to press to enter System Settings (BIOS) varies from system to
system. It could be F1 or ESC. If you can't find that information on a
boot screen: If your system came with a manual look there, or go to the web
site of the maker of the system. Once in System Setup (BIOS) navigate until
you find the boot order screen and make the CD drive the first device in the
boot order. Then save your settings and exit.

In your BIOS settings, there should be a selection for booting up your
PC. Just make the CD drive the first choice.
