Bootable DVD and wireless keyboard & mouse

Being a good boy who does what he is told, I thought I'd produce a bootable
DVD for my Fujitsu- Siemens Scaleo P (XP media edition 2005).

So I stuck a DVD is and told Nero to produce a bootable DVD, which it did
successfully.

However, when I tested it, it booted and gave me a DOS prompt - but the
wireless keyboard and mouse don't work.

Anyone got any ideas how I can produce a bootable disk that would actually
allow me to do something with the PC in a time of crisis?

Use a standard keyboard and mouse.
