I had a problem yesturday when booting up. It Froze on
the line something like "boot found ide-0" and didnt go
to the windows load screen. I restarted many times and
decide to boot from my orignal XP disc. I used the
recover console and did a CHKDSK, which found a bad file.

Now when i restart it says something like windows is
missin a <windowsboot> .dll file (cant remember exactly)
please re-install or copy this file

what do i do guys?

thanks a million

jon

Boot to your desktop with the disk if you have to and then
leave the disk in the drive and go>start\run and type in
sfc /scannow Be sure to put the space after sfc . This
does a system file check and will replace missing or
corrupt OS files. Have fun.

Cool! thanks, BUT how do i get it to boot from the disk,
it goes to the Blue install/fix screen with my disc...

am i thick?

lol
