Hi there,

When should the Boot Virus Protection be turned off in BIOS and when should it be turned on?

How does the boot virus protection work?

When should I make sure that it is off? Like if I executed FDISK /MBR?

thanks,
don

Hi Don:

If you use anti virus software than you should NOT be infected by Boot Sector Infectors and
the BIOS protection can be turned-off. How it works I don't know but I suggest asking
Award-Phoenix; http://www.award-bios.com

I also suggest posting this in: alt.comp.virus
And put "ATTN Zvi Netiv" in the subject. Zvi, of Invircible.Com, is an expert in the field
and fully understands this subject matter.
