boot up issue

When I boot my pc I get an message saying Windows cannot
find copy...
Anyone ever had this prob or know the fix?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Sorry,it's my home pc and i'm at work. doesn't happen
everytime so that was all i could remember.
the problem started when i tried to connect to the net
and my isp told me my email was spamming people (i had
not set up an email account yet). thought maybe the boot
up problem might have something to do with that.
i've done virus scans, in safe mode as well and can't
seem to find a virus (which is what it seems like it is).
sorry, not much help here.
