Boot Problem

I have XP Home Edition. When I try to start my computer it only gives me an option saying Start in safe mode, in normal mode, or last good configuration (something along those lines). However, when I choose any one of the options it looks like windows is starting to load, but then automatically reboots.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Sounds like it could be a hardware problem or you might be
missing or have corrupted files. Have you recently
installed any new hardware or software when it was working?
If so, try removing it and rebooting. Not sure if XP Home
edition has this option but have you tried booting with the
XP CD into a recovery console? You can use this feature to
add/remove problematic drivers and copy files. Here's how:

Scroll down and follow the instruction on how to use the
recovery console. This is somewhat advanced so if you don't
have experience doing this kind of troubleshooting I'd say
leave it up to the professionals.

Check out the blaster virus. It's nasty and it attacks
Windows XP. Call 1-866-727-2338 and they will walk you
through how to get rid of it.
