boot failure

attempting to boot and get lsass.exe message file not
found. Regular login fails. Tried to get to F8 to
Active Directory Repair and get to command prompt as per
a knowledge base article but during this the server
continues to boot and doesn't give an opportunity for
command prompt. How can I force a command prompt to
appear? (This is my email server, so above email is not
currently available)

If you boot from a Windows 2000 Server CD it will give you the opportunity
to launch the Recovery Console which is a limited command prompt that allows
you to do some basic troubleshooting.
