Hi, I have windows 98 and have just installed windows xp
on this machine. I am familiar with XP. My prob is i
accidently installed the XP to a partition with it's
drive letter K: (i have many partitions). with the disk
managment console i cannot change that drive letter cos
it says it's a system or boot partition.I would like to
change it to D:\ so that i can have at least the OS
drives (98 and XP) next to each other. I like to have
everything organized and easy to use which is why i have
many partitions which contain only one kind of thing like
games as drive G: multimedia as drive M: storage space
for users as U: etc.
this partition is NTFS and it's a dual boot machine. is
there any way to do this or might there be 3rd party
software that could do it?

There is no easy, reliable way to do it, without reinstalling or use of a
3rd party boot manager. The biggest issue is the programs that you have
installed on that partition, if any, all expect to be installed on K: now.
Your best bet would be to reinstall and start over, making sure you get the
right partition.
