Boot Disk

I am using Windows XP and have a system recovery disk. Do
I need to create a boot disk?

Ask your vendor whether the recovery disk is bootable. If it is, then no.
 
The recovery disk should be bootable.
The boot order in the Bios should have the CD-ROM before the hard drive.
Put the recovery disk in and reboot.
If you booted to the hard drive, than you need to go into the Bios and
change the boot order.
