How can i create book disk CDR since my laptop doesn't have a floopy drive
and I have this error message on start up saying that my -
system32\msconfig\startup blah blah is corrup and I have to insert start up
CD and press r to repair the problem.

From reading through the post I understand that I am not entitled to a XP CD
ROM unless I buy a retail version of it...

Please help me resolve this problem

You are entitled to a method of restore XP onto you PC. This is normally an
XP install CD (retail and/or OEM) but since you have a laptop, the
manufacturers have chosen to give you an image file of the hard drive when
it left their factory (Recovery CD or hidden partition). Microsoft allows
this.

To create a bootable CDr, you will need to use Roxio(now Sonic) Easy CD
Creator or Ahead Nero. XP built-in tools does not allow this.
