Boot disc/safe mode

I turned on my computer at home and it said boot failed
insert disc. I do not have a boot disc (kids comp.)I tried
to restart in safe mode but it will not open that way
either. I even tried to re-install xp but it said that I
have no hard drive. (there are two on this computer) What
are my options????
