Hi,
some time ago I installed winxp on a pc with 1 slave ide harddisk and all
was ok. Yesterday I buyed a new harddisk installed as master (same ide
channel). On this hd I installed slackware linux but after that windows
wont start. I use lilo as boot manager. So I would like to know if this
can be a winxp boot sector damaged problem? Can I reinstall only winxp
boot on first sector of the slave disk?
thanks

p.s: winxp is on a fat32 filesystem (4gb hd)

When you installed Slackware was the slave drive connected? Lilo should
have a detected WinXP and added it to the
boot menu. Disconnect the master drive and check to see if you can boot
WinXP.

yes it was connected and successfully recognized (but lilo is unable to
start it)
Disconnect the master drive and check to see if you can boot
WinXP.

I will try as soon as possible
