Boot comes up with red X on mapped drive

This happens on a peer-to-peer and a Server 2003
network. Some of the workstations need a drive letter
mapped to another computer and it is set up and works
okay. But on a reboot, that mapped drive has a big red X
on it and won't work until you open up My Computer and
double click the drive. Then it is okay until reboot.

Thanks, but no cigar. We have not put passwords on the
shared folders. The site you sent me to talks about
windows 95/98 and we are XP pro, though one of the
folders originally was on a 98 machine. The article also
seems to be only discussing peer-to-peer when one of our
problem networks has the data on a Server 2003 system.
Also, when you double click the drive, it just connects,
not asking for passwords at all.

Take a look at this.

Share-level mapped network drives are not connected after you restart
