booklet printing - margins

Steph T.

I am trying to print a 20 page booklet on 8.5" x 11" paper. I have set my
margins to 0.17" on the top and bottom and have my footers set at 0", but
keep getting 1.25" + margins on the top AND bottom, no matter how large I set
my font, etc. Print preview version looks perfect, but when it comes out the
margins are still there. Any suggestions as I am becoming incredibly
frustrated?

Thank you,
Stephanie

I am using Word 2007. I tried the "Book Fold" option and it prints my
document in quarters. I have the orientation set up to Portrait because my
printer automatically prints it into landscape when I use the booklet format
via my printer settings.

Do you have it set to print in signatures? What is the setting for "Sheets
per booklet"? If it's anything other than "All," you might get this result,
though it still doesn't sound quite right.

I do not see where I have any settings set to "signature" and the setting for
"Sheets per booklet" is set to "All." I don't see where I can make any
margin changes on my printer and don't see under printing options anywhere
where I can make this adjustment either. Do you have any other suggestions
as to what could be creating these wide margins above and below on my printed
document? Again, the "Print Preview" version is perfectly aligned.

Thank you for your help thus far.

yes, I "Custom" set the top and bottom margins to 0.17". I just tried doing
the "Narrow" setting and that didn't work so I've gone back to my Custom
settings. Any other ideas?

Sorry, I confused your question with a different one. Are you sure your
paper size matches what's set in Word?

I finally figured it out!! Instead of using Word to print this document, I
transfered the information into a Microsoft Publisher file. Once I realigned
all of the information (which took no time at all), everything printed out
wonderfully. I suggest for anyone having problems with margins in Word to
try using Publisher instead.

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions regarding my issue. I greatly
appreciate your time and help!!
