blurred movies

When sending a video by e-mail, the video appears blurred. Is there a way to fix this? Will this happen if we burn the video to CD too? I'm assuming this problem has something to do with losing picture quality during transfers, but it doesn't seem logical that the only way to get a decent video is to watch it only on the computer where it was created. I'm new to this (obviously) and would appreciate any help or suggestions as to what I can do to improve the picture quality.

When you email video, it compresses the video more than when you save to
your hard drive. Video is usually a VERY large file. The more compression,
the worse the image gets and to email a video it has to be less than 1
megabyte to get through most email systems.

If you want it to look great, burn a disc and send it snail mail :)

Hi there,

I too am relatively new at this video stuff, but I did
just happen to email a short 40-second video to someone
today, and, like "print-maker" said, you get a HUGE
amount of "compression" -- I say "compression" vs
compression because it appears as though one of the space-
saving attributes of choosing the "EMail" option is that
the resolution is reduced significantly as well, such
that the result looks "perfect" in a 2"x2" video box, and
not too bad in a 4"x4" box, but when you pop it into full
screen it really gets distorted.

fyi: The original file was about 10MB, but the resulting
emailed file was less than 1MB... the origin was just a
short VHS clip of my daughter appearing in a TV news item.
