Bluetooth Dongle

Hi there

I've recently purchased a microsoft bluetooth
keyboard/mouse combo (and very nice it is to)

unfortunately the bluetooth dongle doesnt let me
sychronise my Sony-Ericsson T610 with my pc.Nor does it
let me tranfer my photos from the phone to the pc.It will
however let my use the phone for dial-up-networking
(which would be nice if i was sat on a train with a
laptop..but i'm not..i'm sat at home with a broadband
connection)

My old bluetooth dongle (a Belkin model) fully supported
all of the features of the phone..but doesn't sit on the
same pc as the microsoft one without there being
conflicts.

Does anyone know of a fix?...after buying the microsoft
bluetooth keyboard I'm now LESS connected than I was
without it.

Regards

As I understand it the current MS Bluetooth drivers do not include the
networking
ability that you would seem to require to complete the synchronisation.

According to the Guide to Bluetooth on Tom's Hardware site updated drivers
to include this function are in development but no date has been given for
their release.

http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer/20030328/index.html

In their tests they were also only able to use a mobile phone as a dial-up
modem.

Have a look, in particular, at the "Connecting other Bluetooth devices",
"Failures" and "Successes".

Since the article was written in March 2003, hopefully the reported update
is close to release.

Sorry I don't have better news

Thanx for replying Pete

I have gotten around the problem by putting the Belkin
transceiver in another pc(the kids machine). The pictures
end up in a folder that's shared on my lan :)

Excellent example of lateral thinking there Anthony.

When the reported update is released (hopefully) you should be able to
transfer direct.

Thanks for the update
Pete
