Hi there,

my Win2k Workstation (SP4 installed) has a strange
problem: Sometimes, not always, it shows me a bluescreen
before/during the logon process. It says
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. Then I must reboot. With luck I
can logon on the second try, but sometimes it takes
several times to get it running. Once its running, it
works without any problems. Does anybody know what that
error is supposed to mean? I didn't install any Updates or
new devices lately. All of a sudden the error just started
to come.
I'm thankful for any help.

From what I remember, that was the message I was getting when HDDs were
starting to fail. I'd advise a swift 100% backup and get the HDD
manufacturers disk checking tool and see what it says :o\
