My monitor has a blue tint to it. A couple of days ago the screen began
turning to have a blue tint. It was changing back to normal until yesturday.
I have searched my own help for what to do but am still stuck with the blue
hue.

Hey, you got a problem with blue? I happen to like blue, so don't go dissin'
one of my favorite colors, OK?

But seriously...

You don't say whether you have a CRT monitor or an LCD, but I'm going to
guess it's a CRT, because it would be extraordinarily unusual to have that
problem with an LCD.

Most probably, either your video cable (that connects your monitor to your
computer) or the monitor itself need replacing.

Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Still see blue? In that case, it's
definitely the monitor or the video cable. Power down your computer and
detach the video cable from both ends. While you have the video cable in
your hands. have a close look at the pins in the connectors -- they should
not be broken, bent or loose. If they, try a new video cable.

If the pins look fine, and you still see blue after carefully re-attaching
the video cable, it's time for a new monitor.

Ted,
I did what you suggested. It seems to have cleared up. The prongs were
fine on the cable which makes me think that it had just come loose.
Thanks again- your a genius!

Two years ago I went out a brought a new TV and lugged it back home
(heavy),
spent the next couple of hours pluggin in the stereo, dvd, vcr, surround
sound...
then the final moment I turned it on @#$!# a purple hue on the top and
sides, the next day I returned it and brought a different brand and larger
tv,went through the same
scenario hooking it up and again that $#%@ purple hue! Turns out I placed my
stereo
speakers just alittle too close to the tv. I still laugh at myself about
this.

It may sound obvious but, have you checked your minitor colour profiles.
Just using the buttons on your monitor make sure you do not have the
wrong colour mode. I cant help much in that all monitors are diffetant.
Also, have you put any new hardware near your screen. This may be caused
by speakers being too clode or being too close to a radiator, but
usually they cause a distorted screen. Try them anyways.
