Blue Screen

Get constantly blue screen with several different notices.

1st instante -IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Stop 0x00000000A (0x6666E2BA,0x000001c,0x00000001,0x8004e1630)

2nd instance-
A device driver attempting to corrupt system has been caught. The faulty
driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced with a working version.

Stop 0x000000c4 (0x00001003,0xb6875130,0x8b9E2FEO,0x8A33F1AO)

NAVAP.sys adress b6875130 base at b684e000, date stamp 3fa2e9ca

After this have had constant blue screens with same notice and several
different numbers.

Cannot boot up normally.
Tryed uninstalling programs and periferals.
Tryed different startup. When dissabled "services" sistem booted up
normally. Every time services are enabled sistem bootsup to a blue screen.

How can I determine which driver is corrupted?

Need suggestions badly..

The driver is NAVAP.sys.

What Norton products have you installed or uninstalled. You need to tell us
the version(s).

Have Norton antivirus 2002 with all the respective upgrades.

What should I do to remove?

NAV 2002 has not been supported for a long time, so you can't possibly have
"all the respective upgrades". You need a version of NAV (or another
antivirus application) that is compatible with XP SP 2.

Have been upgrading since my operating system was Win 2k, but I may be
mistaken if it's not Norton 2002 then it's Norton 2005. They are the only
Norton Antivirus versions we have.

Is it just the Norton Anti-Virus as the programme can be part of a package?

It is also important to know whether it is 2002 or 2005. The older versions
of Norton are very difficult to remove cleanly. I need to know exactly what
you
have so that you can be provided with the appropriate removal instructions.

Just found the box with it's marks and references. It's the Norton Antivirus
2002 original program fromn Symantec, built for XPHome, XP Pro/ 2000Pro/ NT
WS/ Me/98 , or at least it says so on the label.

I have recently dumped Norton Anti-Virus in favour of AVG 7 ( freeware )
and Norton Personal Firewall for the Windows Firewall. A change would
definitely help with your system performance. Lower overheads.

But not for SP 2. And Symantec's policy is to support Norton products for
two years.

They do support for longer. They are quite happy to collect
your annual subscription. Have you known them turn anyone
down?

BTW don't not confuse cock ups with Online Renewal with
refusing to renew the subscription.

I have been to the Symantec site many times but I have not
seen those pages before. Thanks for drawing them to my
attention.

"learning from your posts for a long time." So do I, especially
when I get it wrong <g>!

How do you determine what Support is? In effect they are still
supporting NAV 2002 in respect of virus definitions until the
subscriptions expire, I guess in November 2006 or earlier as
subscriptions come up for renewal.

Virus definitions and to a lesser extent their Knowledge Base
are the elements of support in my opinion that matter.
