Blue screen

Have a win2k server with Sp3 , veritas 8.0 with external Tape drive. As soon as I hook up the tape drive it gives me a blue screen with 0x1e, scsiport.sys driver.
I have other servers with no problems , this was working fine but then my coworked had problem with the tape drive. had replace many things motherboeard, scsi cable,tape drive nothing worked.
Advise
 
did you try booting into safemode, and updating the SCSI and or TAPE driver
with the unit installed?
