When I started my machine this message appeared. I was
trying to get my HPLJ4plus to be recognized after losing
the lpt1 port. Thought I had it back but no. Tried repair
from the W2000 disk, no luck. Any help?

It would be easier to understand your problem if you are more descriptive
as to exactly what you did. What exactly happened, in order, that brought
about this problem?

Can you boot into Safe Mode?
- If so, disable the Spooler service and reboot into Normal Mode (this
is based on the assumption that the issue is printer-related)

Also, if you include the entire STOP error in your next post, that would be
great.
