It could be easier to troubleshoot a slow boot rather than a BSOD coming
from hibernations.

My concern is with the frequency of BSOD's. I can live with the relatively
slow bootups, provided that they work.

Last night, I shut down my PC and this morning, it booted up perfectly OK.
Step 1 was not unexpected.

This afternoon, I thought to hibernate before leaving my office, thinking
that (like all previous days this week) it would blue screen on waking up
this evening. Well, I was actually wrong to think so pessimistically. It
un-hibernated perfectly.

Many thanks for the extremely useful advice you gave me yesterday. I will
see if this behaviour continues. Hopefully, I can leave the re-image of this
PC for another few weeks. I would prefer this to occur over Christmas when I
hope to have more time. I have another PC to rebuild prior to that.
