Blue Screen error

My system has been randomly restarting. i believe my problem is a driver. I
get a blue screen that reads DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL The stop error
code is 0x000000D1 (0x00000046, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF926B102). I did a
driver verification and I got the response. IO System Verification Error in
Lxarscan.sys (WDM Driver Error 20e) Lxarscan.sys+C94 at F2b2cc94. The
particular driver in question is my scanner driver. Could the scanner driver
be causing my rebooting issue.

How long ago did you install your scanner and software.
Did you ever go to the manufacturer's web-site to check for updated/patches
drivers for your scanner?

If you uninstall you Scanner and associated driver, you'll probably not
restart randomly.
Try removing Scanner and Driver under Safe Mode.

First, I would try disconnecting the scanner from the PC and then reboot.
If you don't have a problem, them go to the manufacturer's web-site and see
if there are any updates.

Do not use any updates for your scanner from Microsoft ... they are
unreliable and usually out-of-date when it comes to third party support
drivers.

Once you have the updates, install, reconnect you scanner and reboot and see
how you do.

A very good customer of mine recently called with the same problem. I
had her uninstall then reinstall the Lexmark Scanner drivers and the
problem disappeared. It's not the first time Lexmark drivers caused blue
screens and reboots. You get what you pay for.
