blue screen error

Posted a few days ago. Since then I have seen the error again. Last
line is the STOP line.
On rebooting I reveiced a blue screen error about a corrupt driver. I
was instructed to 'run driver verifier' and enable 'special pool.'
Easy question. What are these things and how do I do it?
BONUS: FWIW, the reboot was after updating MS Office 2000. I realize
this does not mean the update attempt was the cause but it was my last
attempted change on the PC.
STOP: 0x000000c5, 0x12050005, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x805509EB
BTW, received a reply with a link to verifier but I haven't run it.
Looks faaarrr to complicated for an old guy. Hpe someone can supply me
with instructions/settings in normal people english.

What was the name of the driver that was corrupt? Can you get the
machine into Safe Mode? If so, if you recently updated the driver that
is causing the problem roll it back. Otherwise, uninstall the driver
and replace it with a current one. Obviously, you will need to get new
drivers from a working machine with an Internet connection and a cd
burner (or have a usb thumbdrive with enough capacity to transfer the
files).

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The card mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if onboard video; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

If this seems too complicated - and there is no shame in admitting that
- take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your
local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).

That's what I can't find.I saw no driver mentioned in the blue screen
and the MS Driver Verifier instructions were complicated to the point of
confusion. Too many swithces. Too many 'if's.'
