Blue Error screen when loading

When XP started to load, I get Blue colored Error screen.
It says "A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer."
"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGE_AREA"
bla .. bla . . bla . .

i got this problem a few days back, after installing an application, however, that time I could do "restore" and things get back to normal.
Again, I changed some in registry, mostly on Current Machine->Software->Microsoft->Run, and deleting some application there, however, I remember to save registry at the middle of deleting process.

Here is what I have done.
I tried to "restore" to a few days back, not OK.
I tried to import the registry I have saved halfway, not OK.
I tried to uninstall recent installed applications, not OK.

Anybody can suggest a better idea here? thanx.

I have the same problem helping, including it mentions
the win32k.sys file. The page also mentions about
restarting the computer... etc. At the bottom it states
it is doing a "physical memory dump", and it counts up to
100, and then the system goes into the "Safe Mode"
options. Any of the selections will then goto the "blue
screen" as described... and continues in an endless loop.

Is there any other way of repairing this without wiping
out the harddrive.

I was told it was the Mydoom virus, but nothing I have
read on the virus states, that it does this kind of
damage.

Please feel free to email me.

Thank you very much.

when i hv this prob first time, I managed to get it out.
after u choose Safe mode, there should be prompted to ask for safemode or
restore, I choose No, then it goes to system restore mode. I choose to
restore days back, then it was OK in the first time.
try it, n' hope it helps.

Actually, I'd do some hardware diagnostics before thinking it was a
virus. Test the RAM - I like Memtest86 from www.memtest86.com - let the
test run for an extended (like overnight) period of time - unless
errors are seen immediately. Test the hard drive with a diagnostic
utility from the mftr. You will make a bootable floppies with both
Memtest86 and the hard drive diagnostic.

Post back if you need more help.
