blue background for desktop icons

I had a Presario with Windows XP that displayed icons on
the desktop with the text in a blue rectangular
background, making the text easy to see. I recently got
a new COMPAQ with Windows XP and the desktop icons are
displayed with transparent text that is very hard to
read. Is there any way to set the icon text background
to a blue color?

Hi,
Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Flip to the advanced tab
and click on settings under Performance. Scroll down the list of visual
effects and remove the check next to "Use drop shadows for icon labels on
desktop". OK your way out.
