Bloody networking

A

Andy

scenario: I have networked up (802.11g wireless) 1 PC with Xp Home and one
laptop with Vista home premium. I can see the XP machines shared folders but
the XP home cannot access the Vista shared folders (except for the public
folder on the vista laptop which I can access fine!). the other folder I try
top access (I shared C:) Iget the infamous 'you might not have permission to
use this network resource' blah blah blah.

I have tried with firewall on and off and its the same - I have network
discovery turned on in vista and file and printer sharng enabled on both
PC's.

Any Ideas please?

Andy.

Are the two machines added to a domain?
Might be better to ask again in the
microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing newsgroup.

Thanks. They are both assigned in the same workgroup network. I think I have
sussed that I have to put network in the permissions for the security but
then it seems to work but on some folders it says permission denied.

Hi there,

You could try to create a new user on the Vista box with the same UN/PW as
you are using on the XP box.
