Blocking pop-ups

On my old computer using 2000, I had a pop-up blocker
that absolutely stopped all advertisement pop-ups from
appearing.
I do not know how to enable this on the XP. I also don't
know if I am in the right newsgroup.
Thanks for any information.
PS: I already tried "tools" "internet options" "security"
without finding anything usable.

If you want a free browser,that blocks all pop-ups

download the Advant browser,I have it,it works great.Also
helps with multiple slams,while i'm at porn sites.If you
don't like it you can deleat it from add/remove programs.
