blaster worm

I have windows XP and am trying to download the info.
sent by microsoft on protecting our computers from this.
The microsoft message is confusing and seems to keep
leading me back to the same place.
I'm not sure if I have an enabled firewall.
I'm not sure how to download this program. Can someone
please give me clear and simple directions?

Sue, to make sure your firewall is on, do this: open
Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel,
click Network and Internet Connections, and then click
Network Connections.
To enable Internet Connection firewall (ICF), select the
Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing
access to this computer from the Internet check box.
To disable Internet Connection firewall, clear the
Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing
access to this computer from the Internet check box.

to download the worm removal Symantec tool. Once
downloaded, just double click the Hammer tool, and it'll
take care of all the rest for you. Tried, Guaranteed,
