Blank space on page

D

Daniel Schaffer

In Word 2003, I sometimes find that a document has a long blank space that I
didn't put in and can't get rid of. I do make sure that there are no
paragraph marks or breaks, but this doesn't help.

Thanks in advance for help.

Good luck, Dan S

If it's at the bottom of a page, make sure that the first paragraph on the
following page is not formatted to have a page break before it or that it
and the following paragraphs are not formatted to be Kept with Next.

Otherwise, look at the Space Before and Space After settings for the
paragraphs after and before the space respectively.

There is also a slim chance that there might be an ADVANCE field there.
Press Alt+F9 to toggle on the display of field codes to check that out.

Also, under Page Layout, you may have set Vertical Alignment to CENTRE but
it should be set to TOP.
