Blank Screen while doing a repair Install

I got a blank screen when I was rebooting from an
installation of software. I had previously changed
my 'Sign On Screen' using BootSkin by Stardock. Which
worked fine. But after installing another software and
trying to reboot the "starting windowsxp" screen went
blank instead of bringing up my 'Sign On' Screen.

I decided to Install Windows XP again, but for fear of
losing the "My Documments" folder and my email and other
programs I decided to install in another folder
named 'Windows1'

Could I lose all my files if I just did a fresh install
in the original 'Windows' folder? Or, is there anyway to
revert back to my original "Sign On" screen?

Thanks in advance

Went fine huh, then why no start screen.
You can try entering the BIOS,exit page, select, load set-up defaults, then sav
and exit BIOS.You could also,at start-up,tap the F8 key,select,start windows i
last good configuration.

If you have the option to boot to the original XP installation and get the
blank screen, try hitting the Alt+Tab keys. Sometimes the sign on screen
gets hidden. If this is the case, reset your sign on options and this should
fix the problem. You will then need to remove the second XP install. See the
link below to remove the second XP.
If you reinstall over the original XP, you will lose everything in the
Applications and Settings folder which includes My Documents folder and all
registry settings.

I have two installations of Windows/Windows XP on the same partition.......
